Lexi our little angel

Sweet little Lexi is sleeping so well. She slept last night from 10pm - 4:30am. In fact, I woke her up at 4:30am because I felt like I might explode if she didn't eat soon. We are so lucky she is sleeping a good part of the night. We are working on loading more pics of her soon.

Lexi's 1 week birthday

Lexi decided to spend her first week birthday sleeping on daddy and enjoying the beautiful day in Chicago on her first walk around the neighborhood. Our family is getting used to the new addition, but Lexi is making it really easy. She is an angel both day and night, she sleeps really well (have to wake her to feed her) and she eats like a champ. She has already changed our lives for the better in so many ways and will continue to do so in the future I'm sure!!! I'm also going to try to add a bunch of pics to the Picasso web albums for people to see.

The Miracle of Life!!!

Alexandra Pierce Nichol, 7.0 lbs, 20 inches long, born Aug 22nd at 11:47am

She is amazingly beautiful, and perfectly healthy so far (knock on wood). Mom is doing good, still trying to catch up on sleep, and Lexi is still trying to get acclimated to the house. We got out of the hospital today at noon, and have had Grammy and Grandpa (my parents) and Mawmaw (Katies mom) here helping us out, and we couldn't be doing it without them. I just hope we get the hang of this before they leave, haha.

Lexi is just the most amazing little joy of life that I've ever seen. I can already not imagine life without here around, and I'm sure that feeling will only get stronger. She has the best demeanor, and has been very good so far, considering she is new to this outside world.

Wish us luck, and we'll keep you all posted with new info and pictures. I'm going to try to attach some pictures we had taken in the hospital of our little nugget of joy.

Really????

Still waiting!!! Katie is going on 4 long days past her due date. She is being a trooper, and letting our little baby Nichol grow a little bigger and stronger in her belly. This child definitely has a mind of its own, that's for sure. Hopefully this stubbornness isn't a long lasting trait..haha. Will keep you all posted as things change, keep your fingers crossed!!!!

Old Sailors Adage

Katie and I went for a long walk tonight around the neighborhood, it was a perfect night, and ended up on Southport Ave, for some dinner. We got home just in time to catch a beautiful sunset off our back porch. The whole sky was red and purple(I took this picture from my phone after the sun had gone down, but I think you get the picture.) I hope the old sailors adage "red sky at night, sailors delight, red sky in the morning, sailors take warning." Maybe we will see Baby Nichol tomorrow if this saying holds true! We'll see!!

This is my agenda today!

One day overdue!

1. Get an iced decaf coffee
2. Go for a pedicure - with an extra long foot massage (good for starting labor)
3. Eat Spicy food for lunch (good for starting labor)
4. Go to acupuncture (good for starting labor)
5. Long, long, long walk with hubby when he gets home from work
6. Eat more spicy food for dinner
7. Lay on couch while hubby rubs my feet and hands (good for starting labor)
8. Go to bed and wake up with contractions tomorrow morning!!!

Sounds like a good day to me!!! Oh please come little one!!!

Last Dr.'s office visit???

The ultrasound went well today, Katie and the baby have plenty of fluid to keep the little one healthy. She is still 1.5 -2 cm dialated, so were just waiting for some bigger and better contractions to come along before we can head into the hospital. This picture was in the waiting room of the Dr's office today, after many days of spilling food on her belly, Katie found a new use for it as a small table. She may only have a day to use it though, were keeping our fingers crossed!!!

Today is the day! Where is the baby?

So, I am watching a show on astrology and I would love the baby to be a Leo. This means the baby has 5 days to make his/her entrance into the world. You would think after sitting for 8 weeks and the all the sacrifices we've made that he/she could at least come as soon as possible. I am getting pretty uncomfortable and would really like to meet this little person.

Tom finally has his bag packed and we are now ready to go when the time comes.

I have an ultrasound this afternoon and an appointment immediately following. We will find out more later this afternoon.

We will keep you posted!

Any Day Now!

This is me after a doc appointment. Tom got a kick out of the basketball in my shirt and he snapped this shot on his phone. I look funny, but thought you'd all get a kick out of my belly. It looks like it might fall off. Anyway, I am due in 3 days and anxiously waiting to meet little Nichol.

38 Weeks Pregnant

Tom took some pics after dinner on Saturday night. We went out for a great dinner a few blocks away. This may be our last dinner out just the two of us... ;-)
